Most rescues won't - but Rain have a policy of matching dogs with people rather than squeezing everybody into the same mould

what measures would you be able to put in place to ensure the welfare of your dog whilst you're out? and how long would you be anticipating your dog being left alone for daily?

Tess, it does depend on what you are looking for?
like
Val at Lincoln has a gorgeous chocolate brown bitch - been used as a brood bitch - had a very sad life, and used to being left for very long spells at a time

would you be able to get someone to let a dog out for a wee? i know many dogs can cope - and do have to,
and sadly - dogs like this have led such bad lives - one could say - its tons better than what they have had before.

they do deserve a good home, but whats to say you would't give her that when you are at home in the mornings and evenings and weekends.

personally i have worked all my life and always had dogs - i have managed - so i think the rules that many rescues lay down, are silly
you have to be sensibe - and like strix says, match the dog to the home

if you are interested in offering a good home to this chocolate lady - i know val desperately wants to see herout of kennels.
look on my web site under NEWARK dogs, and give val a call - she is only at collingham

Thanks folks

We could pop home at lunchtimes and hubby could take a dog out with him in his van if it were of the travelling disposition.
We were thinking of a small dog but hubbies dad used to breed labs so I've emailed Val for more information.

Thanks again
Tess

Hia Tess
Do you still have Patch, or was he too poorly to stay with you - can't remember what val said.

If not, have you decided if you are going for anything else?
