Our dog is needing to learn that other dogs will not attack her (or mate with her, she was bred from very young) and is now getting to the stage where we think she might be ready to meet another dog in a controlled environment.

The problem is that she goes in with her back up (literally) and obviously most dogs will react to this, she gets more stressed and we find a viscious circle so basically we need to find a dog thats half asleep and won't react to her being an idiot and give her chance to settle.

We are wanting to take her to classes, but think we need to address one dog at a time first, obviously we will muzzle Poppy, because although I'm pretty sure its more bark than bite I don't want to risk that.

So has anyone in Sheffield got a lovely dog, some patience and a spare hour or two?

I think we may be able to help out Smile

Brude's a very patient little soul - and if Poppy is a manchester cross, he's already had experience of one of those

just one thing though - if she's a manchester cross, you've as much chance of making her like other dogs as stopping a rabbit hopping or a cat from finding the warmest spot in the house to snuggle Wink

if you want to meet up, send me a pm to arrange Thumbsup (which area are you in?)
